Makoni blasts Tsvangirai and his MDC

Dr Makoni said the 27 outstanding issues that MDC-T claim should be fulfilled by the inclusive government had nothing to do with improving the lives of Zimbabweans but reflected the selfish interests of MDC-T.
Dr Makoni made these remarks at the Gweru Press Club on Friday last week where he also ruled out the possibility of his party joining forces with other opposition political parties ahead of an envisaged 2011 election.

“If you look at the 27 outstanding issues MDC-T says should be fulfilled, they all represent the party’s selfish interests and thirst for power. They (outstanding issues) do not in any way have anything to do with improving the lives of Zimbabweans,” said Dr Makoni.

“One of the outstanding issues is that the PM wants his motorcade to be extended to match that of President Mugabe. What has that got to do with the welfare of the people?
“Imagine Tsvangirai wants a motorcade as long as (President) Mugabe’s when Gweru Provincial Hospital and all the other hospitals in the country do not have enough medical supplies,” added Dr Makoni.
Dr Makoni said the inclusive government was bogged down by power struggles engineered by the MDC-T which have resulted in the political arrangement failing to improve the lives of ordinary Zimbabweans.
