FORMER Warriors hitman, Cuthbert Malajila, believes discipline and dedication are behind Golden Arrows forward, Knox Mutizwa’s success.
Mutizwa is flourishing in South Africa’s top-flight DStv League at a time when his countrymen are struggling to ride the wave.
He recently became Durban side’s all-time leading goal scorer when he took his tally to 51 last weekend to dislodge Mabhuti Khenyeza.
Golden Arrows are in the DStv Premiership drop-zone and need Mutizwa’s scoring prowess now more than ever to survive.
Malajila, who was a scoring machine at Mamelodi Sundowns, hailed Mutizwa for his ability to withstand the demands of the South African top-flight league.
“Firstly, I would like to congratulate Mutizwa for this milestone, this is what it means to be a striker and there’s more joy in setting such records.
“He has to keep on scoring the way he has been doing and knowing him, his hard work is paying off.
“He is always serious when doing his business,” said Malajila.
Malajila who is now busy with his Kadoma-based CUMA Academy project, emphasised that focus can make one succeed with ease in South Africa.
CUMA Academy was relegated last season from the ZIFA Northern Region Division One League.
The former Dynamos man, said he is pleased with the progress of his project despite failing to maintain their Northern Region slot.
“We started this project sometime ago and last year we gained a lot of experience in the Northern Region.
“We are trying our best to give guidance to these youngsters, and by the look of things, we are moving in the right direction,” said Malajila.
“The guys are getting there, I’m seeing signs of maturity and we learnt a lot last season and we are now trying to improve in areas in which we lacked aggression.
“Our hope is to do better in Division Two and hopefully make a return to Division One, but our major focus is recruiting youngsters.”
