SOUTH Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema has refuted claims that he is planning to leave the party and rejoin the ANC. The Citizen yesterday reported that Malema was in talks with the ANC over a possible return to the party. The report claims that ANC veteran Winnie Madikizela-Mandela was facilitating talks between the senior ANC leadership and Malema over his return.

However, Malema denied the claims via social media.

“I’ll never do that to my people, the EFF remains my only political home now and for the rest of my life,” Malema said on Twitter.

“I’ll be buried with the red flag.”

Meanwhile, the ANC has said it is unaware of talks to see Malema return to the ruling party.

ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa however said that the party would welcome back Malema and other EFF members who wanted to return.

“If Malema and others want to come back voluntarily, the ANC will always welcome them,” he said. — Iafrica.
