Once dismissed as a fading talent, Masimba Mambare has defied expectations with a stunning resurgence after recovering from injury.

After vanishing from the limelight, the seasoned midfielder re-emerged in 2024 with Bikita Minerals, a move met with widespread skepticism, but one that ultimately silenced doubters and reignited his career.

When Mambare first donned the Bikita Minerals jersey in the top-flight, few believed he still had the prowess to compete at the highest level.

Yet, under the guidance of coach Saul Chaminuka and with the unwavering support of the club’s leadership, the veteran playmaker became instrumental in their fight against relegation.

“Football is about belief, and we saw something special in Masimba,” said Bikita Minerals chairman Mike Mushava.

“Many wrote him off, but we knew his experience and skill could make a difference. He didn’t just meet our expectations, he exceeded them.”

Indeed, Mambare’s contributions were pivotal in securing the team’s survival in a season where they were widely tipped for the drop. His composure, leadership, and clutch performances won over fans and reignited discussions about his place among most resilient footballers.

However, in a twist Mambare opted for a new challenge at the end of the 2024 campaign, signing with newly promoted Kwekwe United.

His move didn’t bring the expected results as he met several challenges in Kwekwe United colours.

He decided to return to Bikita Minerals under the guidance of Wilson Mutekede.

They have also added the services of Kimberley Manyika (19), Shelton Moyo (18), Philip Makhele(22), and Keith Mathe (23).

These additions come in a crucial time where the club is trying to manoeuvre out of the relegation matrix.

Bikita Minerals are currently in 11th position with 28 points after 24 matches.

“We are excited about the new talent joining our squad. Our strategy is to create a balanced team with a mix of youth and experience.

“These signings will undoubtedly strengthen our lineup and help us achieve our goals in the premiership,” said Mutekede.

“We are sure his experience and familiarity with the team will be a valuable assert,” added Mushava.
