A 32-YEAR-OLD old man has been arraigned before the court for trying to dupe the Central Vehicle Registry.

Munyaradzi Hatidani from Highfield, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare Magistrate Dennis Mangosi.

It is the State’s case that on January 4, Hatidani went to the CVR to obtain a duplicate registration book for a Toyota Conquest.

It is alleged that Hatidani tendered a CRV form with a fake Customs Clearance Certificate.

The CVR’s database showed that he had submitted details of a Toyota Allion which belonged to someone in Gweru.

The CVR then contacted detectives, who arrested Hatidani. The State submitted that Hatidani’s actions caused prejudice to the good administration of the CVR business.

Zebedia Bofu appeared for the State.
