AN EPWORTH woman is at odds with her 31-year-old son, who brands her a witch.

Fortunate Mutepo said she was angry with her son, Clever Gekesa, for disrespecting her as his mother, and applied for a protection order against him.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted her the protection order against Clever.

Clever was ordered to stop insulting, abusing or intimidating his mother and taking her property. Mutepo said Clever was very rude.

“He is my son, but he claims that I ate his child. I called my sister, who asked him to apologise, but he refused.

“He recently came harassing me, demanding some of my property saying it’s his asi ndezvangu zvese,” said Mutepo.

Clever disputed the allegations, and told the court that he only took property which belonged to his wife.

“I didn’t say she is a witch, but I just asked her why she gave my late baby sorghum and rapoko at three weeks wakatomunwisa mvura ye zviyo, nanhasi zvinondinetsa.

“After my son died that is when I started staying with her because my wife was still mourning at her parents’ house.

“The time I wanted to take my wife back, my mother refused and said I should take her after some rituals.

“She calls my wife a prostitute, mukadzi vangu akatoshaya zvipfeko zvake zvemukati,” alleged Clever.
