A 23-year-old Mbare man has been arrested for selling beer to minors on Christmas Day.

Phaeteon Mutiyaya, who ran a shebeen in the area, sold beer to 11 minors who were captured on video drinking in Harare.
National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, warned liquor outlets not to sell alcohol to those under 18.
The police have identified the other nine minors who were involved in the incident.
Investigations revealed that the minors used money given to them as Christmas presents to buy the alcohol and travelled from Mbare to Harare Central Business District.
“Police have since identified the other 9 minors who were in company of the two minors from Epworth,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.
“Three minors are aged 7, and three aged 10, and the others are 5, 9 and 11.
“They all reside at Nenyere Flats in Mbare with their parents and guardians who have since been located by the police.
“Investigations have established that the minors used money given to them as Christmas presents to buy alcohol.
“Police will arrest violators of the liquor Act without fear or favour.
“Operators of shabeens or illegal liquor outlets will face the full wrath of the law,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.
