Chris Saraoga never knew that when he was called outside the night club, things would turn bad for him as he was allegedly assaulted by four men and stabbed several times for mining at their mine.

The incident happened last Saturday at around 830PM and was confirmed by Bulawayo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube.

“We would like to warn members of the public against mining at undesignated places. That’s dangerous because it could lead to crimes like kidnapping,” he said.

A source close to the incident said Saraoga was boozing at a night club situated adjacent to Basch Street terminus popularly known as Egodini, in the Bulawayo city centre. A man who was only identified as Tawanda approached him and asked to have a small talk with him outside the night spot and he agreed.

When he got outside, things turned bad for him as three men including a driver who were sitting inside a parked car bolted out of the car and grabbed him before bundling him into the car.

“They drove at high speed till they reached Hillside suburb and parked by the roadside along Cecil Avenue. They took turns to punch and kick him accusing him for mining at their mine,” said the source.

After that they dumped him by the roadside and drove off.
