A BULAWAYO man broke into his ex-wife’s bedroom and beat her up after finding her in bed with her new husband.

Nqabeni Ncube of Pumula North surbub saw his former spouse, Concillia Ndlovu (42), in the arms of the new love of her life.

Nqabeni grabbed an iron rod and set upon his old flame in a frenzied attack.

Breathing heavily, he also pummeled her with punches.

It was not explained what action the new husband took when Nqabeni snatched Ndlovu from his embrace and brutalised her.

Western Commonage magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube was not amused when Nqabeni appeared before him to answer to a charge of physical abuse.

Magistrate Ncube tore into him for taking the law into his own hands and turning violent over a relationship that had already ended.

Prosecuting, Cathrine Kuzu said the accused person and complainant are ex-husband and ex-wife.

She said on April 29 at around 8:20am, Nqabeni went to Ndlovu’s place of residence.

The court heard that upon arrival, he barged into Ndlovu’s bedroom and found her in bed with her husband.

Nqabeni assaulted Ndlovu with a metal rod and fist on the face and thighs.

Ndlovu, Kuzu said, sustained a swollen thigh but did not go to hospital.

A report was made leading to Nqabeni’s arrest.

Having returned to his senses, Nqabeni pleaded guilty.

Magistrate Ncube blasted him with6a 12 month prison sentence.

He suspended five months for five years on condition that within that period Nqabeni does not commit a similar offence. The magistrate suspended the remaining seven months on condition that Nqabeni completes 245 hours of community service at Emganwini High School, starting yesterday.
