FOR bashing his wife after suspecting that she was having an extra marital affair with a married man backfired for a Penhalonga man after he was arraigned before the courts.
Denford Ncube of House Number 43C Oldwest Penhalonga appeared before Mrs Sekai Chiundura pleading guilty to domestic violence.
In the State case led by public prosecutor Miss Christine Mwenga it was alleged that from December 12 to 19, Ncube had a misunderstanding with his wife, Sibongile Sam over infidelity.
“Ncube had seen some love text messages in his wife’s cell phone which showed that she was having an affair with another married man, who is employed at Gracca Coaches as a bus inspector.
“He then confronted her about the messages resulting in the assault,” said Miss Mwenga.
Ncube admitted to assaulting his wife but denied using a log.
“I never assaulted her with logs but I only used a belt and catapults,” he said.
The case goes for trial on January 5 next year.
On the second count, Ncube was convicted on his own plea of guilty when he appeared before Mrs Chiundura.
He was facing assault charges.
Miss Christine Mwenga appeared for the state.
Allegations were that he assaulted a Gracca Coaches bus Inspector, Blessing Dhliwayo (29) accusing him of having an extra marital affair with his wife Sam.
The court heard that on December 16, Ncube approached Dhliwayo who was sitting in his friend’s vehicle and asked him about his relationship with his wife but Dhliwayo denied the allegations which angered Ncube.
He then assaulted Dhliwayo.
Mrs Chiundura slapped him with a $100 fine.
“I erred, Your Worship, may you please forgive me,” said Ncube.
