A 39-year-old man has been slapped with a 15-year prison sentence after raping a fellow inmate at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison while he was asleep.
In statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said: “The court heard how the convict raped a fellow inmate (36) on 29 October 2024, while he was asleep. Evidence including semen, corroborated the victim’s testimony.”
Harare Magistrates’ court sentenced the convict to 15 years in Prison.
