A NKULUMANE man will spend the next two months behind bars after being caught attempting to sodomise his six-year-old nephew.
The boy and his alleged abusera��s names are withheld for legal reasons. The uncle allegedly sneaked into a room where the minor and his elder brother were sleeping and took off the boya��s clothes.
The alert brother noticed that his uncle was up to no good and quietly slipped out of the room to notify his grandmother who found the uncle on top of the naked boy.
The grandmother reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the uncle. He has since appeared in court, pleaded guilty before Western Commonage magistrate Tancy Dube.
He was charged with indecent assault for contravening Section 67 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act.
He was sentenced to five months in prison with three months suspended for five years on condition that he does not commit a similar offence.
He will serve an effective two months.
