Man commits suicide at girlfriend’s lodgings

A CHISUMBANJE man who could not stomach being cheated on by his girlfriend committed suicide at her lodgings.

Police in Chipinge confirmed the death of Aleck Dhingani (36), who was employed as a driver at Macdom Estates at Chisumbanje Ethanol Plant.

Village head, Lovemore Chisumbanje, said Dhingani’s body was found hanging from a Mopane Tree branch at his girlfriend Komoti Vhutuza’s homestead yesterday morning.

“I can confirm the death of Dhingani who committed suicide yesterday. He left his workplace on November 28 going to his girlfriend’s place. He sneaked out of the house and hanged himself on a tree branch at Vhutuza’s homestead,” said Headman Chisumbanje.

He added that Dhingani’s body was taken to St Peter’s Mission Hospital for post-mortem.

Chipinge Rural District Council Ward 26 councillor, Councillor Misheck Busangavanye, said Dhingani was buried today (Tuesday) at Vhutuza Village.
