A 33-YEAR-OLD man from Chitungwiza allegedly hit the former landlady of his sister with a car after a row over unpaid rentals.
Marvelous Sihlangu hit Tafadzwa Chiriseri, 27, with the fender of his Toyota March in Zengeza, Chitungwiza.
Chiriseri had earlier bitten Sihlangu’s finger as the row over unpaid rentals escalated.
The incident occurred along Mafukachuma Road in Zengeza 2.
Chiriseri sustained fractured lower limbs on both legs and was taken to Chitungwiza Hospital for treatment.
Harare Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident and said Sihlangu was arrested and is now facing attempted murder charges.
“Police arrested a Chitungwiza man for attempted murder charges.
“The circumstances are that the complainant is a former landlady of the accused person’s sister.
“On 13 July, 2026, at around 1030 hours, the complainant proceeded to the accused’s sister Nomisilo Nyathi’s place of residence to ask for money for rentals, which she owed her. The accused’s sister told the complainant that she had not yet found the money.
“This did not go well with the complainant, who forcibly took the accused’s sister’s sofas and loaded them onto a push cart.
“She then phoned the accused’s brother, who is the accused person, and he rushed to his sister’s house.”
Insp Chakanza added:
“A misunderstanding arose resulting in the complainant biting the accused’s left middle finger before she fled the scene.
“On the same day, at around 1210 hours, the accused was on his way to Chitungwiza Hospital when he met the complainant and allegedly hit her with his motor vehicle.”
