MAN KILLS CLIENT OVER WHEELBARROW

A Damafalls man is on the run after allegedly assaulting a client to death for stealing his wheelbarrow at a bar.

Only identified as Godwin, the suspect is popularly known as Bogus, and is alleged to have kicked and punched Cyprian Muradzi’s head until he passed on while his family watched.

He was 25.

Bogus found his wheelbarrow hidden in Cyprian’s bedroom following a tip off. Amid the assault, Cyprian’s wife, Tsungirai Karanji, 23, rushed to her brother to seek help and they went to the nearby police post.

However, Bogus had escaped by the time they got back.

Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Bogus.

“Police are investigating a murder case at Damafalls in Ruwa.

“Circumstances are that on June 15, 2025 around 10pm, the deceased stole a wheelbarrow at Danny Bar, Ruwa.

“A follow up was made by the accused leading to the recovery of the wheelbarrow in the now deceased’s bedroom.

“The deceased was questioned about the wheelbarrow by the accused and other people resulting in a heated argument.

“The deceased then took two bricks and threw them towards the crowd which was questioning him.

“This did not go down well with the accused person who then assaulted him until he fell down.

“Upon discovering that the deceased was not conscious, the accused fled.

“The body of the deceased was taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals Mortuary for post mortem,” said Insp Chakanza.
