ACCUSATIONS of infidelity, often whispered in the heat of anger, can ignite a fire that consumes relationships, sometimes with devastating, even fatal, consequences, as tragically evidenced in the case of a 34-year-old man from Cowdray Park suburb in Bulawayo who allegedly killed his wife following an argument over infidelity.
Jabulani Phakathi was accusing his Siphathisiwe Ndlovu of allegedly having an affair with their landlord.
For the grisly offence, Phakathi appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Archie Wochiwunga charged with murder.
He was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to 25 March 2025.

Allegations levelled against Phakathi are that on 3 May 2023 in Cowdray Park suburb, he and his now deceased wife got into an altercation after Phakathi accused her of having a love affair with their landlord.
It is further alleged that during the altercation the accused person assaulted his wife with fists all over the body, head butted her and ran away.
Ndlovu was taken to Mpilo hospital where she died upon admission.
