Man loses over US$71 000 to robbers

A 34-year-old Beitbridge man lost his employer’s US$71 000 that was supposed to be delivered to the company’s agent in Harare.

Police have since launched investigations into the case.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “The ZRP is investigating a case of robbery which occurred in Dulibadzimu, Beitbridge, on April 6. A 34-year-old man was robbed of US$71 120 company money which was meant to be delivered to the company’s agent in Harare.

“The complainant was attacked by an unidentified suspect who was armed with a pistol.

“The suspect fired one shot while demanding cash and was handed over a bag containing the money.”
