A MAN from Kumalo suburb in Bulawayo, Mr Mbongeni Ndlovu (25), has been missing for more than three years and his family is appealing for assistance in locating him.

Mr Ndlovu was last seen three years ago when he left his sister’s house under the pretext that he was going to lock the gate at around 7PM.

His sister, Mrs Simphiwe Ndlovu, said they are worried about him as they do not know what made him decide to leave without letting any of his relatives know.

She said Mr Ndlovu is the third born in the family and their mother’s first son.

Mrs Ndlovu said since her brother’s disappearance, her mother has not been doing well.

“My brother had been staying with me when he disappeared. He was doing driving lessons and my home was closer to where he was doing them. He was a quiet person and didn’t show any signs of distress before he disappeared. The only thing I can say is that he had dropped out of Nust where he was doing his second year in electronic engineering,” said Mrs Ndlovu.

She said she was cooking when her brother left the house but she did not put much thought into it because he often used to take walks around the neighbourhood around that time.

Mrs Ndlovu said she got alarmed when her children told her that her brother had left carrying a small satchel. That is when she tried to look for him down the road to no avail.

“I have been to hospitals, mortuaries and jails looking for him with no luck. I even reported the matter to the police but there’s nothing they could do. When he left, he didn’t even carry his phone so we didn’t have means of communicating with him,” she said.

Mrs Ndlovu said she hopes her brother will see the article and come back home so that if anyone wronged him, they can talk as a family and find a solution.

She said they currently do not care about where he has been these past few years and will not question him should he come.

“As it is, our mother is very sick. Anything can happen to her right now. I’m appealing to my brother to at least come home for the sake of our mother because even if she passes on today, she wouldn’t rest peacefully because she’s longing for her son. We really love you as a family and we hope you will come back to us,” said Mrs Ndlovu.

She appealed to members of the public who might know of her brother’s whereabouts to contact her on the following numbers +263 78 588 8103 or +263 78 427 3864. -@flora_sibanda
