A HARARE man has come up with an unusual offer he wants to go to jail and serve the prison sentence which was imposed on businessman Mike Chimombe.

Lawrence Shingie Dhairo, 48, is a father of six.

“My life has become miserable and I believe it is better to save those in prison who are capable of working and providing for others,” he said.

“I am barely managing to provide for my family.

“We are currently living at my in-laws’ house, which adds to my concerns.

“I want to believe that there are convicted individuals who have repented and could contribute positively to society if given another chance.”

Then, he turned to his mother tongue.

“Pakaipa wangu, zvirinani vana Chimombe vabudiswe zvavo ndiende kunovapedzisira mutongo wavo kana zvichitenderwa.”

Dhairo said he was also eager to have a conversation with Chimombe personally.

“If they agree, I am prepared to go any time,” he said.
