Mbawa told the court that she was claiming US$400 for the upkeep of the one-year-old twins.
In response, Makosa told the court that he could not afford US$400 because it was above the money he earned.
“I can only afford to give her US$100, US$50 per child. I am married to another woman and we are expecting,” he said.
Magistrate Mrs Muchuchuti asked Makosa why he had so many loans on his pay slip.
“I took loans to cover Mbawa’s medical expenses when she went to give birth,” he said.
“The loan has been accumulating interest that is why I was left with US$9.”
Mbawa told the court that she had no objection to US$100 and by consent Makosa was ordered to pay the money with effect from August 31.
