adminGideon Sithole of Unit E, Chitungwiza was not asked to plead to rape and kidnapping charges by Chitungwiza magistrate Ms Olivia Mariga.
He was remanded in custody to January 23 for trial.
Sithole took advantage of the situation after he employed the girl as a housemaid before sexually abusing her on several occasions.
Prosecutor Mr Henry Muringwa told the court that in October last year, the girl was working as a housemaid at Sithole’s house and would return to her parent’s place after completing her duties at the end of day.
Whenever Sithole failed to come home early, the girl would spend the night at his house.
On one of the nights, Sithole attended a church service and returned home late, resulting in the girl sharing a room with his daughter.
As they were sleeping, Sithole sneaked into the room and slept with the two. The girl woke up to discover that she was being sexually abused.
When she screamed, Sithole jumped out of the room and disappeared in the dark.
He only came back home the next morning and gave the minor US$20 so that she could conceal the matter.
It is further alleged that he told the girl that she was his wife since her father betrothed her to him as a wife.
Sithole would sexually abuse the minor on several occasions and give her US$20.
