adminDouglas Mavuto of Nyamatanda Village 1B, Kenzamba, in Chinhoyi teamed up with his brothers Fidelis and Finos and waylaid the man near Sakatira Resettlement Area.
They hit him on the head with a stone launched from a catapult before pouncing on him when he fell down.
Mavuto recently appeared before Chinhoyi magistrate Mr Funny Nya-kudya facing attempted murder charges. He was remanded in custody and will appear in court today.
Prosecutor Mr Vote Zishiri told the court that on December 24 at around 10.00hrs, Mavuto teamed up with his brothers and attacked the man with a catapult before arming themselves with sticks and assaulting him.
They also used a knife to attack the man, resulting in him sustaining serious injuries on the head, back, knee and ankle.
