A MAN from Shurugwi in Midlands Province is battling for his life in hospital after he was savagely attacked on the head with an axe.
The incident happened on Thursday and has been confirmed by Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko.
“We would like to discourage members of the public from resorting to violence when they are faced with disputes but they should solve their disputes in an amicable manner,” he said.
Insp Mahoko appealed for information that could lead to the arrest of the alleged attackers.
“Anyone who has information about the whereabouts of the suspects can contact any nearest police station or contact us 054 2221073,” he said.
A source close to the incident said while Tinashe Denhere was walking to his home from a booze, he met three men who identified themselves as Nyasha, Wesly and Mhizha. The trio allegedly blocked Dhenere’s way.
Following that an argument broke out, in the heat of the moment Denhere pushed one of his attackers at that moment things got bad for him.
It is alleged that Wesly attacked Dhenere several times on the head with an axe leaving him gasping for breath in a pool of blood.
A community member rushed him to hospital. He is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) fighting for his life.
