A MAN from Damofalls has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of raping a sex worker on two occasions.

Harare regional magistrate Mr Francis Mapfumo convicted Nyasha Ngwenya on charges of rape and robbery.

The prosecution, led by Mrs Sherlyn Sadomba, presented evidence showing that in May, Ngwenya approached the victim at Jongwe Corner, and offered US$14 for sexual services.

The victim agreed to accompany him to his residence.

However, on the way, Ngwenya brandished an electric shocker, threatened her life and dragged her into a maize field, where he raped her twice.

In a second incident on May 23, Ngwenya again approached the victim at Jongwe Corner with the intent of engaging in sexual acts.

He again threatened her with the shocker and demanded her cellphone after the assault.
