Man steals cellphones from patients at Mpilo Central Hospital

A MAN who is employed as an HIV counsellor attached at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo left hospital staff and patients in shock after he allegedly stole cellphones from patients  admitted at the health institution.

The matter was reported to the police leading to his arrest. Lizuba Nkosi Ngala from Nkulumane suburb in Bulawayo appeared before a Bulawayo magistrate facing three counts of theft. He pleaded not guilty to all counts.

Ngala was remanded out of custody until 18 November.It is said that on 6 November at around 10 PM, Lucy Machigauta was admitted to Ward 1. It is alleged that Ngala sneaked into the Ward and found Machingauta asleep and stole her cellphone before he went away.

When she woke up she was shocked to find that her gadget had been stolen.Machigauta reported the matter to the police.

The court heard soon after that he allegedly pounced on Martha Moyo who was admitted in the same Ward and stole her cellphone.

On 8 November at 9PM Ngala went to Ward 5 and found Shamiso Ndlovu sleeping. He reportedly stole her cellphone.
