MAN STEALS GOAT, SELLS MEAT TO THE OWNER

A HWANGE man stole a goat before selling the meat to the animal’s owner.

Shylock Zulu (28) of Themba Ndlovu Homestead, Mashala Village, Hwange, was convicted and sentenced to six months in prison for stock theft. Three months were suspended on condition he does not commit a similar offence in the next five years.

The remaining three months were suspended on condition he restitutes the complainant ZWG$1057.

Circumstances are that on January 8, at Mashala grazing area, Zulu stole one black-and-white male goat which belonged to Thabani Sibanda. He slaughtered the goat and proceeded to Thabani’s homestead where he sold the meat to the complainant for USD$15.

He claimed it was bush buck meat.

The complainant became suspicious that the meat could be from his missing goat.
