Man strips lover naked, assaults her on privates

Sifelani Mbambo from Fourwinds suburbs in Bulawayo claimed her lover Juda Masina does not trust her and last week he reportedly stripped her partially naked and struck her on the thighs and private parts accusing her of two-timing him.

According to Mbambo, her lover saw her going to the shops and asked her where she was heading. She told the court that he followed her and caught up with her before he grabbed her by her skirt and tore it apart, leaving her partially naked.

Mbambo said he did that in the presence of the people who were going about their business.  Her furious and suspicious lover struck her with a belt, she claimed. She cried for forgiveness but that did not help matters as he continued attacking her and hurling insults at her, she said.

It took the intervention of the members of the public to restrain him from bashing him while accusing him of cheating on him. She said after that, she ran to a police station to seek refuge.

Mbambo applied for a protection order at Bulawayo civil court.

She took to the stand and said: “I’m fed up with this man. He insults me in the presence of my children and he also insults my children. He always accuses me of cheating on him. Whenever we are involved in an argument, he bashes me. Therefore, I’m fed up with him and I no longer love him. I pray that this court will bar him from coming to my house and also not to insult, or beat me up.”

However, Masina denied his wife’s submissions. He said: “I did not beat her up. Last week on Tuesday, I arrived at home at around 7 pm and I found her heading out of the gate.  I asked her where she was going. But she did not respond, so I followed her. When I got near her she pushed me away. She said I should leave her and shouted at me.”

He added: “He then ran away to a police station, shortly after that police came and took me to a police station. Despite what has happened ,I still love her.”

The presiding magistrate, Shepherd Mnjanja granted Mbambo a protection order. Masina was ordered not to visit Mbambo at her place and not to verbally and physically abuse her.
