A 34-YEAR-OLD man from Cowdray Park suburb in Bulawayo was arrested for allegedly threatening to stab his wife and children using a knife.

Edmore Nkala appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Archie Wochiunga, facing a charge of intimidation.

He pleaded not guilty to the alleged offence.

The matter was deferred to 21 January.

In his defence, Nkala denied threatening his wife and children but said he only reprimanded the children.

The court heard that on 8 December 2024, at around 11 am, the accused person arrived home drunk and found his son crying.

Upon seeing this, Nkala is said to have taken a knife and threatened to kill his wife and other children.

He is alleged to have threatened them using the following words: “Ngizaligwaza lonke lingahlupha umntwana,” which translates to “I will stab all of you if you abuse my child.”

The matter was reported to the police, leading to the arrest of the accused person.
