A MAN who busted his wife having sex with her boyfriend in the couple’s bedroom has been pushed into a corner — his wife is threatening to down rat poison if he discloses the incident to her parents.

The boyfriend also wants to be paid to keep quiet about the affair.

Patrick Nyamana claims is being blackmailed by his wife Gladys Kupukai and her boyfriend.

He said Gladys is now even claiming that he is not the father of their children.

Patrick has now approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against his wife.

He said:

“I caught her red handed sleeping with another man on our matrimonial bed.

“When I tried to confront her, she drank rat poison in protest and even said I would be responsible for her death.

“I rushed her to hospital and she survived.

“Now she is threatening to do it again if I don’t pay her boyfriend.

“I am not going to be blackmailed by my own wife when l raised those children as my own, and now she’s telling me they are not mine.

“She harasses and insults me for not looking after the children yet she knows I am unemployed.

“I have no peace, that’s why l am pleading for the court’s protection.”

In her response, Gladys said:

“I took the poison because my husband was failing to provide for our family.

“He has been unemployed for months and I had no other choice but to engage in extramarital affairs to provide for my children.

“I threatened him because he was claiming that he wanted to tell my parents about the incident and I was left with no choice but to blackmail him.

“My boyfriend also threatened to expose our relationship and demanded that my husband pay him to keep quiet.”

Presiding magistrate Meenal Naratam expressed concerns over Gladys behaviour and granted Patrick a protection order.
