AMID genuine expectations of a big crowd attending the Manica Diamonds versus Scotland encounter at Sakubva Stadium this afternoon, fans have implored the hosts to ensure smooth entry of fans into the venue.
The match starts at 3pm.
Entry into Sakubva Stadium for Manica Diamonds home matches has always been a problem, regardless of crowd sizes.
This has been worsened by the ongoing renovations of the two front gates at the stadium.
Mathias Madakadze, of Zimta said: “One of the most frustrating things is to spend a long time at the gate trying to pay your way in. This had been happening for quite some time. Given that they are hosting a team that brings a big crowd, Manica Diamonds need to up their game on the gates.”
Justice Kelvin Mapangisana said: “The gates are one area that Manica Diamonds need to ensure more efficiency to avoid disappointing the supporters. We should not have long winding queues if the people manning the entry points know what they are doing. It is our passionate plea that there be an orderly management of the game.”
Manica Diamonds chairman, Masimba Chihowa said the gates will open at 12pm.
“We are going to open the gates at 12pm. We will be using six gates or entry points, including the ones that are still undergoing renovations. However, we are also urging the supporters to come early to avoid having long queues at our entry points,” he said.
