VETERAN administrator Musa Mandaza says he will seek another term as Zifa Southern Region chairman when the football governing body holds regional elections next month.
Nominations are open and set to close on September 17, with elections scheduled for October 14.
Mandaza confirmed his candidature saying he would be happy to serve as chairman for another term.
“I can confirm that I will be contesting the regional chairmanship in the coming elections. I will be happy to serve in this position as we seek to develop football further in the region,” said Mandaza.
He said together with his team they had accomplished a lot and given another chance they will achieve more.
He said they managed to solve some issues, such as the relegation debacle, which saw the Premier Soccer League relegating four teams and promoting winners of the four Zifa regional Division One leagues
“We have met some challenges along the way, but we have managed to deal with them. Of particular note is the promotion and relegation debacle which at the end allowed four teams to be promoted on merit in the league. After that fiasco, we managed to open doors for new players to play in the country’s topflight league at the same time giving administrators space to gain experience,” he said. – @khumzallen
