DYNAMOS Football Club coach David Mandigora’s job is safe, at least for now, despite back-to-back losses to Chicken Inn and Whawha that saw them remain five points behind leaders Chicken Inn. DeMbare were thrashed 3-0 by Chicken Inn on Sunday, their worst defeat in a decade, and yesterday their former son, Lloyd Mutasa, humbled them 1-0. They face FC Platinum on Sunday, a match that is a must win for Mandigora.
Kenny Mubaiwa, the DeMbare chairman, said Mandigora had all their support and was going nowhere, adding that the club still believed he can lead them to their fifth consecutive league title.
“It’s too early to worry, as a club we’ve our own target which we believe is still very much within sight. Losing is part of football world over, we saw Real Madrid and Bayern Munich losing so its not peculiar to Dynamos only. Just a few days ago it was the Highlanders’ coach who was facing the boot but after just a single win, all that talk is over. We still believe we’re on course to winning the league title at the end of the season,” said Mubaiwa last night.
The history making chairman, however, hinted at possible technical team shake up should results continue eluding them. “We’re monitoring the situation closely even though not panicking,” he said.
The Dynamos house is known to erupt, in any form, when results don’t come and even though chairman Mubaiwa puts up a brave face, the world might collapse on him if any result, other than a win, comes up against FC Platinum on Sunday.
