TAURAI Mangwiro is set to join Botswana Premiership side, Orapa United, as the new head coach.
The nomadic coach, who will be taking charge of his third club this year having joined Harare City from Triangle United, was expected to be unveiled by the Botswana side last night.
A source close to Mangwiro told H-Metro that the coach’s move was a done deal.
“It’s true that he has joined Orapa United and the club is set to make the official availing of a new technical bench tonight (yesterday),” said the source.
His unveiling coincides with the club’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
Orapa United, known as the Ostriches, in the Botswana Premier League, are currently fourth on the table with six points.
They have only lost once in their three outings in the 2022-23 season.
Mangwiro, whose coaching career spans 16-years which have seen him winning two Chibuku Super Cup trophies in the Zimbabwe top-flight, will be expected to lead the Ostriches to their first league title since their formation.
He was left dejected after a career low a fortnight ago when his Harare City were relegated from the top-flight.
He will be hoping for a new start as he embarks on his first coaching job outside the country.
