THE much-awaited dancehall riddim, Manica Baseline that features more than 20 dancehall artistes, will be finally launched at a dancehall bash slated for Pick and Save Supperrette next Saturday. The first ever riddim for upcoming dancehall musicians in Mutare was produced by renowned Harare-based producers Cashlibz Records and Dollar Gettaz.

Celebrated chanters from Harare, the likes of Kinnah, Ninja Lipsy, Viviuun, Junior Kayz, Itana and Gaza Empress are expected to grace the occasion and add spice to one of the most historic developments to local music.

Several musicians from Mutare’s suburbs like Sakubva, Dangamvura and Chikanga who feature on the riddim are also lined up to perform at the all-night bash.

These are Taliban, Attraction kid, Banky D, Sir culture, Power pipe, Soul Jah Tee, King Vegas, Maximum Calaz, Fluxxy tee, Fire compressor, Anti badness, Fire lady, Lady Popa, Acon Bee, Jay C, Ross Rate, Ambassador, Soul Jah Tee and Terry Fabulous.

The dancehall musicians formed a group called Attraktion Clan.
In an interview recently, the group manager, Edmore Musa, said they decided to come together in a bid to promote both the genre and artistes.
“Dancehall artistes based in Mutare are very talented and we cannot sit down and watch their talents going down the drain. They need support and recognition and by forming a group and coming together in a riddim like this makes our dream come true. Thanks to Cashlibs Records, they have managed to explore their singing prowess to the world through the first ever riddim in Mutare,” he said.

He called for support from established artistes as well as fans.
