COLLABORATIVE efforts between Government and churches are among some of the ways the Second Republic is using in sustaining the country’s development drive, the Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Nokuthula Matsikenyeri, has said.
In a speech read on her behalf by the director in her office, Mr Luck Basopo, at a meeting organised by the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace held in Mutare recently, Minister Matsikenyeri said this cooperation is in line with devolution agenda that hinges on participatory governance.
She added that President Mnangagwa’s administration remains committed to decentralising operations to regional and local levels and is determined to see meaningful development taking place at those levels.
“This meeting is in line with the Government’s devolution agenda that seeks to promote participatory governance and ensure equitable access to national resources, health and public services to the citizens.
“The Government, led by His Excellency President Mnangagwa, is working hard to ensure that it fulfils its promises to the electorate as well as to implement and uphold the devolvement of power and decentralisation of operations to lower tiers,” said Minister Matsikenyeri.
