FORMER ZPC Kariba and Dynamos midfielder, Raphael Manuvire, is struggling to help his lowly eSwatini club move away from the relegation zone.
His side, Mhlume Peacemakers, are swimming deep in relegation waters, having amassed a paltry 20 points, from 26 matches.
He was brought in by his former coach at ZPC Kariba, Saul Chaminuka, who has since been replaced after a string of poor results.
He has returned from an injury lay-off and has helped the team to two wins, and a draw, in the last three matches, he has started.
“I arrived here when the team was bottom of the log but they were far off the relegation rivals,’’ he said.
“We are still at the foot of the table but we now have a realistic chance of surviving.
“I suffered some injuries, which kept me on the sidelines, I am back now and I believe if the team continues, on its current trajectory, we can survive.
“It’s very tough but we are keeping our eyes on the ball.”
Manuvire signed with ambitious ZIFA Northern Region Soccer League side, Simba Bhora, in 2019.
But, with no football being played in the country, he decided to go to Eswatini.
Simba Bhora coach, Arthur Tutani, is understood to have given him the greenlight.
The 32-year-old could be retained by the Eswatini team, if they survive relegation.
Manuvire showed a lot of promise, when he was part of the 2014 ZPC Kariba team, which only failed to win the title on the last day of the season
