AWARD-WINNING gospel musician Janet Manyowa has moved to clarify misconceptions surrounding the inclusion of Matthias Mhere in the worship segment of her upcoming Worship Moments concert, following questions from some fans who viewed him primarily as a praise artiste.

She said worship and praise were complementary expressions of faith and that the singer had demonstrated his versatility throughout his career.

She said the two recently collaborated on a song from Mhere’s latest album, a worship track they are expected to perform together for the first time at the concert.

“Matthias is not only a praise artiste. We have a worship song together from his new album, and people will get to experience that side of his ministry,” she said.

Manyowa said Worship Moments was not a concert limited to slow songs, as some people assumed.

Instead, it is a holistic worship experience designed to celebrate God through both praise and worship.

“Worship Moments is a concert of slow songs and fast songs too. It is a worship experience that celebrates God through both praise and worship,” she said.

The event has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s most anticipated gospel gatherings, bringing together believers for an uplifting encounter through music.

Scheduled to take place tomorrow at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare, Manyowa has promised a life-changing experience, assuring fans that each event offers something fresh and unique.

“Every Worship Moments event has its own character,” her manager and husband, Munyaradzi Manyowa, told Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub.

“This year, we have placed a strong emphasis on creating a more intimate worship environment, allowing people to engage deeply with the music and the message. The event is less about production spectacle and more about creating meaningful moments in God’s presence.”

The manager, who believes in excellence, noted that the diva is particular about the quality of her delivery every time she performs.

“Preparations for an event of this nature begins months in advance. Beyond rehearsals, there is significant planning around production, guest artistes, the worship flow, logistics, and the audience experience. A great deal of prayer and intentionality also goes into ensuring that the event fulfills its purpose.”

After all the hype, which has already taken place, the manager assured fans that they will leave the event spiritually uplifted, as fans will be up close and personal with the songbird.

“Worship moments are designed to be an intimate evening of worship, reflection, and celebration. Attendees can expect an atmosphere centred on God’s presence, heartfelt worship, some of Janet’s most loved songs, as well as moments of encouragement and inspiration. Our desire is for every person to leave refreshed, uplifted, and drawn closer to God.

“This edition is particularly special because it comes at a time when many people are seeking hope, encouragement, and genuine encounters with God. We have also curated a unique worship experience featuring special guest ap-pearances and fresh musical expressions that will make the evening memorable,” the manager boldly declared.

Asked if there would be any surprise acts on the day, the manager said: “While Janet remains at the centre of the evening, audiences can certainly look forward to special guest appearances and collaborations.

“We believe worship is strengthened through unity and fellowship, and we are excited to share the platform with other gifted ministers.”

Besides ANOT, which has endeared her to fans, the diva’s management has plenty lined up for its supporters.

“ANOT remains our flagship gathering, but Worship Moments forms an important part of our annual ministry calendar. Beyond this event, we are working on a number of ministry and music initiatives that we look forward to sharing with our supporters in due course as the plans are finalised.”

Following the popularity of Worship Moments, a concept pioneered by the multi-award-winning gospel diva Janet Manyowa, her camp believes such events are therapeutic and should not be underestimated.

“I believe worship has a unique ability to bring hope, healing and perspective.

“While worship gatherings may not solve every challenge people face, they provide an opportunity for individuals to reconnect with God, find encouragement, and draw strength from a community of believers.

“In times of uncertainty, spaces that inspire faith, hope and unity become even more important.”
