JANET Manyowa will join fans in the Independence Day celebrations when she exchanges notes with Nigerian praise and worship star, Mr GUC.

Born Gift Ugochukwu Christopher, the award-winning musician’s date with Manyowa will be held at Belgravia Sports Club on April 18.

The organisers have changed the show venue from Celebration Centre to Belgravia Sports Club due to the demand of tickets to accommodate more fans.

Minister GUC, 30, gained recognition following the release of his debut album in December 2020, with the hit tracks All That Matters, Desperate and Yours.

He officially began his music career in 2019 after he was signed by a record label, Eezee Conceptz.

Speaking to H-Metro, Rudo Magwenzi, the Public Relations and Communications of SetUp Events, said the concert was meant to celebrate diversity.

“We have an exciting list of headliners expected to perform, the likes of the sensational Minister Takesure Zamar, Janet Manyowa, the dynamic group Joyful Praise Choir, Minister Ellard and Spirit Praise.

“They are all set to share the stage with Minister GUC.

“Such events help us to promote the gospel through music and create a platform for our local musicians to share the stage with other established artists from beyond our borders, to learn and exchange from each other,” she said.

Magwenzi said they were ready to accommodate other partners.

“We need sponsors to come on board to help us put up an event that is of international standards so that even visitors from outside our borders can identify Zimbabwe as a powerhouse in putting up quality events.”

Last year in December, SetUp Events hosted “The Shift Concert”, which was headlined by American star, Travis Greene.
