Mapeza linked to warriors top job

After parting ways with Callisto Pasuwa, the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has started looking for a new coach to take over the reins and prepare the team for the upcoming Afcon qualifiers.

Reports say that former Warriorsa captain and FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza is set to take over from Pasuwa.

The source said that though there are other names, which are being mentioned in the Zifa corridors Mapeza emerges as the favourite.

a?Zifa will be having a meeting this week, where they will finalise about the coaching job, at the national team and they have made it clear, that they want a local coach. They need a coach like Mapeza, who is strict but at the same time loves his county. I think thatas why he is the favourite amongst Zifa executive committee. His name is on top of the list and we just have to wait over the weekend, something may happen,a? the source said.M .
