one glaring omission from the 24-member squad.
DeMbare were making frantic efforts last night to draft striker, Takesure Chinyama, onto their list.
Chinyama, who was playing in Poland. was unveiled in absentia as one of the club’s six new signings.
DeMbare had also tried to get former TP Mazembe and Monomotapa midfielder, Chris Semakwere, but were beaten to his signature by CAPS United this week.
Club secretary-general, Nyika Chifamba, said they were hoping to beat the midnight deadline to get Chinyama onto the list.
“It’s normal that you can not always get what you want but I am happy we managed to beat the deadline to register our team,” said Chifamba.
But the omission of Maringwa’s name could be the major talking point in their squad, which has several familiar names like Tawanda Muparati, Cuthbert Malajila, Roderick Mutuma, Leo Kurauzvione and Milton Makopa.
Diminutive forward, Murape Murape, who reversed his decision to quit football, has also been registered.
DeMbare also registered two Zambian imports, Derrick Kabwe and Arthur Kaseloki, who have experience in the Caf competitions with Roan United and Zesco United.
But Chifamba refused to comment on Maringwa’s omission from the 24-men squad. Young Warriors midfielder Timire Mamvura is also not on the provisional squad.
“I cannot comment on the absence or presence of a single player.
“What I can say is that the team that you saw is the provisional squad for 2012.
“We will update you if there are any changes,” said Chifamba.
Hwange also submitted a 24-member squad that has new faces like former Blue Ribbon captain Daniel Kamunenga, Farai Vimisayi and former Zimbabwe Saints forward Evans Rusike.
The coal-miners, however, did not register their Zambian import Aaron Katebe who played a part in last season’s Premiership campaign.
Motor Action sent their squad late and the club’s chief of protocol Simeon Jamanda was confident they will beat the deadline after experiencing a few problems with their squad.
