and daughters who fought for Zimbabwe’s independence.
The small town of Mt Darwin was yesterday a hive of activity as scores of music lovers trickled in to familiarise themselves with the place as well as enjoy a night of fun at several drinking halls dotted around the place.
Some bars were forced to re-stock after a drinking spree by fun-loving Zimbabweans, while lodges were fully booked since the beginning of the week.
The music extravaganza will see more than 30 performing artistes entertaining music lovers.
The gala comes in the backdrop of the reburial of fallen heroes who were dumped in a disused mineshaft at Chibondo 30 kilometres from Mt Darwin.
The performing artistes include Alick Macheso, Tongai Moyo, Nicholas Zakariya and Cde Chinx.
Representing youthful musicians are Cindy Munyavi, Leonard Mapfumo, Shinso, Extra Large and Sandra Ndebele. The gala will be beamed live on ZBC-TV.
