Bodies of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke and four other passengers who died in the Marondera helicopter crash yesterday evening are yet to be formally identified, family spokesperson Mr Herbert Chivayo has said.

Mr Chivayo said forensic experts are still working on establishing the identities of the victims following the crash.

He said the impact of the crash has made the identification process difficult, with specialists having to conduct forensic examinations before the bodies can be formally released to the families.

“The forensic experts have not formally identified the bodies,” Mr Chivayo said.

“The impact of the crash has made identification difficult, and the experts are still carrying out their work.”

Mr Chivayo said the family is awaiting further information from the forensic teams before funeral arrangements can be announced.

“We are waiting for the formal identification process to be completed. Once that is done, we will be in a better position to advise on the next steps,” he said.

He added family members might meet at Gletwyn later today to discuss funeral arrangements and how to proceed.
