Marvin Bonde gets top-notch coach

Brauman is famed for turning Tyson Gay into one of the best international athletes in the class of 100 and 200m world record holder Usain Bolt.
Bonde, who graduated with a finance degree from Oral Roberts University in April last year, is confident of better things to come.
He said the move to Brauman was to better his athletics career.
The former Sprinters athlete who was groomed by Kenny Nyape after some telling performances for Matabeleland North and Fatima High School, is on an Olympic Solidarity Scholarship. He was identified by the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee and the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe as a worthwhile investment for the Games.
“My coach has trained a couple of international athletes mostly from the Carribean Islands,” said Bonde.
The injury-prone athlete is hopeful of a better season and an operation that he had last year could help him achieve a long cherished dream of participating at a major world competition.
“As long as I am not injured I believe I have as great a chance as most top notch athletes. All I have to do is to train and pray God keeps me healthy,” said Bonde.
Brauman has started his own athletics camp and like his athletes, will be more than keen to keep his reputation high with some good performances.
The London Olympics provide an opportunity for any athlete worth his salt to prove to the world his or her mettle.
In Zimbabwe, Bonde dominated the 100 and 200m sprints up to 2007 when he left for the US and his 4x100m relay team which featured Nelton Ndebele, Elvis Muamo and Garnett Dube dominated the scene for a while.
His best in the 100m is 10.23 seconds and in the 200m he has done 20.63 seconds.
With Ngoni Makusha, Gabriel Mvumvure and either Lewis Banda or Brian Dzingai, they look a formidable 4x100m team that could make a top 16 at the Olympics.
What is encouraging is that Mvumvure, Makusha and Bonde are potential sub 10 seconds athletes on any of the last three legs of the event.
