MARYMOUNT Teachers College is ready to host delegates for the ongoing 22nd ZANU PF National People’s Conference in Mutare, the institution’s principal Mr Martin Mukwazhi has said.
The college will accommodate 400 delegates and 100 support members.
In an interview this afternoon, Mr Mukwazhi said the institution has undertaken major infrastructural and service upgrades to ensure a comfortable stay for guests.
“We have sunk three boreholes and fitted one with a 10-horsepower, 15 000-watt solar-powered pump to guarantee a continuous supply of clean water. The whole college has also been solarised to ensure uninterrupted power during the conference,” he said.
He added that the college had also refurbished its kitchens, cold rooms, and other key facilities to meet the demands of hosting hundreds of visitors.
“We have upgraded our cooking equipment, improved lighting, and enhanced the overall ambience of the college. We have also repainted all buildings and spruced up pavements to ensure that our campus presents a welcoming environment,” he said.
To ensure smooth operations during the event, Mr Mukwazhi said the college had mobilised a team that has been assigned different duties.
“We have teams for catering, cleaning, accommodation, grounds, and security. As a college, we value hospitality and we are ready to warmly welcome our visitors to Manicaland. Zimbabweans are known for their hospitality, and we are proud to be part of that tradition,” he said.
