The eighth edition of the Presidential Youth Interface Rallies will be held in Mashonaland Central’s capital of Bindura at Chipadze Stadium on Saturday.
This was confirmed by zanu-pf Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Kudzanai Chipanga after an inter-district meeting held at Bindura Country Club yesterday.
“The next Interface rally will be held this coming Saturday in Bindura, the capital of Mashonaland Central. The rally will be held at Chipadze Stadium and today we had an inter-district meeting to make preparations for the event,” Cde Chipanga said.
He said a bumper crowd is expected to attend the rally as has been witnessed in other provinces. “We expect a bumper crowd and we discussed ways of creating more sitting space for the huge crowd that we expect to attend. “We are already mobilising fuel and other resources that are needed to ensure that the province successfully hosts the event,” he added.
Cde Chipanga urged youths in Mashonaland Central to turn up in their thousands to interact with the President. “We call on all the patriotic youths in the province to come in their numbers to have the opportunity to meet the President.
“We want them to show their gratitude to President Mugabe for the various initiatives his Government has embarked on to empower young people,” Cde Chipanga said.
Cde Chipanga said they were satisfied with the overwhelming success that has been witnessed during the rallies held so far. “As the ruling party’s Youth League we are happy at the success we have had in the interface rallies we have held so far. The huge crowds we have witnessed show that Zimbabweans are fully behind President Mugabe and zanu-pf.
“This is a sign that we will win resoundingly in next year’s elections. zanu-pf is the only party that puts people at the centre of its policies,” he added. The previous Interface rally was held in Midlands’ capital city of Gweru and was attended by an estimated 100 000 people. In his address in Gweru on Saturday President Mugabe commended the Youth League for coming up with the initiative to mobilise youths.
Yesterday’s meeting in Bindura was attended by other senior leaders in the Province among them Political Commissar Cde Saviour Kasukuwere, Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs Minister Cde Martin Dinha, and zanu-pf provincial chairman Cde Dickson Mafios among others.
