MASHONALAND West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo has pledged full Government support to Pan-African mining giant Bravura Holdings, which is eyeing major platinum exploration and mining ventures in Chegutu and Zvimba districts.

Bravura, which has its roots in Nigeria and Ghana, is also conducting lithium exploration in Kamativi, where the commissioning of its project is expected by the end of the year.

Speaking at an introductory meeting in Chinhoyi on Monday, which brought together Government officials, traditional leaders, councillors and representatives from Chegutu and Zvimba rural district councils, Minister Chombo said Bravura’s investment aligned with President Mnangagwa’s “Open for

Business” mantra and would bring much-needed economic activity to the province.

“We are open for business as espoused by President Mnangagwa,” she said.

“As the Minister of State for Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution, I am mandated to ensure that investors feel at home.”

She said the arrival of Bravura was a major step towards creating jobs, especially for youths and boosting provincial revenue through increased platinum output.

The Minister also noted that successful investment projects like Bravura’s would contribute to devolution goals by enabling rural councils to deliver better services comparable to urban standards.

“We rank just below Harare and Bulawayo among all provinces,” she added.

“With projects like Bravura, we believe we can increase productivity and even surpass expectations.

“The goal of devolution is to improve the lives of people in rural areas.”

However, Minister Chombo also urged the company to prioritise corporate social responsibility (CSR), stressing that communities affected by mining operations must see tangible benefits.

In response, Bravura Group general manager, Mr Ojo Ologuson Bhenga, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable development and community well-being.

He said Bravura was finalising a comprehensive CSR framework tailored to the needs of the affected communities.
