Mashambanzou, a local institution that provides care and support to vulnerable populations, has received a shot in the arm from the Dr Timothy Stamps Trust.

The trust donated an assortment of goods, mainly medical consumables, aimed at enhancing the institution’s capacity to care for its patients.

The trust’s director, Constance Chigwamba, welcomed the donation, saying it will be very useful in the care unit.

Speaking at the event, a board member of Dr Timothy Stamps Trust, Dr Jealous Batsirai Nyerere said that the donations will help in service delivery and looking after patients.

“We are aware that Mashambanzo faces a lot of constraints in terms of service delivery and looking after their patients,” he said.

“One of the aims of the Dr Timothy Stamps Trust is to mobilise resources, identify institutions or individuals that need assistance, and we thought this was a worthy cause.

“We were able to establish the type of assistance that they need, and we have seen that they have a lot of space for projects that can be implemented without investing too much money.”

Former Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care Dr. John Mangwiro, who is also a board member of Dr Timothy Stamps Trust, said that the partnership will be long-term to ensure that Mashambanzou can survive on its own.

“We need to make sure it exists even after 30 years because of its big role in the community.”

The late Dr Timothy Stamps served in Government as Health and Child Care Minister.
