Masomere set for Shabanie stay

Masomere, who was engaged in the second half of the season, saved the team from relegation.
“I am not in a position to tell you about Shabanie Mine Football Club because at the moment I am jobless.
“I am still to sign a deal so you can talk to the chairman or secretary” said Masomere.
Webster Chitono the Shabanie Mine chairman, confirmed that Masomere was expected to sign a new deal either today or tomorrow.
“He is going to put his signature and we are likely to have him for two seasons though he will pen a one-year deal to be renewed at the end of the season.
“His two assistants Elvis Muuya and Arnold Jani will also sign new deals.
“We are also not going to have a goalkeepers’ coach as the coach said he would take care of the goalminders on his own.
“We will be starting training next week most likely on Wednesday in preparation for the new season,” said Chitono.
The club lost Tawanda Mareya to Hwange, Jonathan Chitereki to Motor Action and captain Simon Shoko and Rowan Nenzou to neighbours FC Platinum.
They are currently chasing the signatures of Godfrey Dondo and two players who were off-loaded from FC Platinum.
The bulk of the players joining Shabanie will come from Chiredzi and Gweru.
Meanwhile, Jani said Masomere’s new deal will be a big boost to the club.
“Luke was my coach at Masvingo when he worked with Charles Mhlauri and he knows my capabilities.
“I am happy to be back with the team and I hope I will add value to the team.”
Jani replaced Saul Chaminuka who only lasted two games.
