House musician Master Zhoe who has been on a quest to take his music to every corner of Zimbabwe has taken this mission a step further following his recent collaboration with top South African kwaito musician Professor, in a move that will likely see him appeal to music lovers across the continent.
The artiste who hails from Gwanda has roped in the Kalawa Jazmee protégé for the remake of his track titled Akungise.
In the past year, Master Zhoe has grown from being an artiste who appeals to fans from his hometown to one that is nationally recognised. Now, he is preparing to penetrate the region.
The artiste was in South Africa recently for the production of the forthcoming track. X Studios producer DJ Drumz was responsible for the production with the visuals also being shot in the neighbouring country.
Through his manager Morateoa “Mora” Sidange, Master Zhoe said he is not letting the closure of the arts sector because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic derail his 2021 goal of breaking barriers in his career.
She said the song with Professor is expected to be a banger that will definitely hype people up ahead of the festive season.
“The song is a remake to the original Akungise that was released around 2018. The track will be accompanied with visuals that we shot in Johannesburg a few weeks ago.
“The house track is all about having a good time with the aim being to get people in the mood as we approach the festive season,” said Mora.
She said the track will be out in the coming months as they want to release it together with Master Zhoe’s forthcoming album. As fans await the song’s release, Mora said they should anticipate more regional collaborations as Master Zhoe is on a serious mission to promote his brand. – @mthabisi_mthire.
