Masvingo RDC identifies growth centres

George Maponga in Masvingo

Masvingo Rural District Council (RDC) has said seven of its rural business centres will turn into growth centres in line with Vision 2030.

Mapanzure, Muchakata, Musvovi, Chisase, Renco Mine Turn Off, Nyikavanhu and Zimuto Business Centres are billed to morph into growth centres in line with the Government’s rural industrialisation drive.

Masvingo RDC chief executive Mr Martin Mubviro said the centres will be hotspots for investment and will serve local communities.

He said his local authority is crafting local development plans to pave way for accelerated growth.

“The growth centres we are going to create will attract investment and boast industries. This means people will no longer need to travel to Masvingo city centre for shopping,” he said.

Council will overhaul the entire road network at the centres and also connect running water.
